Did You Know...

...that the death rate per 100 reported home fires is twice as high in homes without working smoke alarms (1.13) compared to homes with working smoke alarms (.55). When smoke alarms fail it is most often because of missing, disconnected or dead batteries.

Did You Know...

...that the most common material first ignited in home smoking-material fire deaths were mattresses and bedding, upholstered furniture, and floor covering.

FROM THE CHIEF

Welcome to Lyndon Fire & Rescue online!

With the amount of home fires on the rise in the metro area lately, we remind everyone to exercise extreme caution when it comes to using space heaters and candles.

Remember that it is essential to properly maintain and operate space heaters, and to keep them away from flammable materials.

In addition, never leave burning candles unattended. Remember: When you go out, blow it out.

Lyndon Fire operates one Engine company (1632) and one Quint company (1654) on a full time 24-hour shift. Our volunteer staff is assigned to Engine 1635. Engines 1633 and 1634 are auxiliary pieces.

Engine 1632 is our newest apparatus. Click on the vehicle number for photo and technical data.
